Publication of data regarding the interaction between the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals

Starting from 30th June 2016, the data related to the professional collaboration between A M Mangion Ltd and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Healthcare Organizations (HCOs), and to Research and Development will be available on our website.

Absolute transparency through the publication of these data is the objective and clear choice of the pharmaceutical companies having adopted the Disclosure Code of PRIMA in implementation of the Code of EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations).

The professional collaboration between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals, already well regulated for some time, takes place in various fields of activities:

  1. Research and development of new drugs through clinical trials conducted in hospitals, universities and in public or private Healthcare Organizations;
  2. Scientific consulting;
  3. Scientific seminar and conferences which provide information and updates;
  4. Conferences and Continuing Medical Education courses organized by public structures, universities and scientific communities and accredited CME providers

The exchange of knowledge between the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals, with their expertise and practical experience, allows for the contribution of valuable information to the advancement of research and development thus making more efficient and effective drugs available for the health of all patients.
These interactions, besides being regulated by national and international norms, are based on the mutual respect of roles in a transparent context of the ethical regulations and principles of PRIMA which establishes strict control measures conducted by third parties following specific institutional procedures presided by magistrates appointed by the Chief Justice.
You can access the data, published in accordance with the laws of data protection, relative to the HCPs who have granted consent of data publishing and in aggregate form for those who have not.

Disclosure Methodology in Malta for Menarini

Since 2015 is the first year of disclosure, Transfer of Value related to an event/ activity as of 1st January 2015 were included.

Activities included in the Transfer of Value were the following:

- Fees for services to Healthcare Professionals
- Donations, Grants and Sponsorships to Healthcare Organizations
- Transfer of Value related to Travel (eg. Flight ticket), accommodation and registration fees

Report of TOV related to multi-year contracts

Multi year contracts are not applicable to A M Mangion Ltd

VAT

All payments (eg. Fees for services, Donations, Grants, Sponsorships) are reported exlusive of VAT. In Malta VAT is not applicable on Medical and Educational Services

All TOVs from services or products (e.g. flight ticket, hotel rooms …) are reported gross, so inclusive of VAT (and tips) when applicable

Currency

The currency used in the disclosure reports is the currency in which the invoice has been issued or, for travel and expenses, the local currency in the country in which the expense was paid.

All amounts will be in the country specific currency, €.

TAX

Responsibility of decleration of income rests on the Medical Profession
